National Board of Examination finally kicks out the Prometic from all its examinations. While many websites reported it to be a mutual decision because the contract was not yet over, however, the contract was not a specific time period bound contract and hence any of the party was free to walk away.
Soumitra Roy, Managing Director, Prometric India said, “We are extremely disappointed to not be administering the NBE exams under the circumstances and we were very serious about our responsibility to ensure that systems are secure and that test centres only allow honest candidates to demonstrate their knowledge and qualifications accurately and fairly. We will continue to support NBE in a smooth transition of its program in the best interests of students and test takers.”
However, after the NEET PG irregularities surfaced in January this year Delhi police filed a FIR and started an investigation to find that the Prometric Software was breached at many centres. In a charge sheet filed by Crime branch of Delhi Police, the modulus Operandi of the hacking was described. Further Vyapam whistle Blower Dr Anand Rai filed a PIL in Delhi High court for CBI investigation of NEET PG scam and Delhi High court taking a serious note issued a notice to Ministry, NBE, Prometric and CBI to file rejoinder with in 10 days.
Also Last month NBE suspended Dr Bipin Batra for several irregularities. Under such circumstances, such a step to remove Prometric was expected. The question is whether NBE initiates any investigation against illegal tender to Prometric at first Place.
