LNJP/ MAMC strike due to an assault on resident doctors called off after all demands accepted by the administration

Two resident doctors were allegedly assaulted by a patient’s attendants and relatives at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital on Tuesday, which is attached hospital to Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC). Following the incident, the Resident Doctor’s Association (RDA) of the MAMC shut all services, including emergency services. Also the FORDA (Federation of Residents Doctors’ Association) and RDA went to indefinite strike. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police said they have registered an FIR in the case and initiated inquiry.

Patient Sahnaz, a resident of Trilokpuri, was admitted to the hospital on February 23 and is undergoing treatment for Gall bladder stones and chronic liver disease. Her attendants — Atiq, Salman and Amir are accused of assaulting resident doctors Shyam Sundar and Sanjay, who were treating her. Dr. Sundar suffered a nasal bone injury while other doctor sustained hand fracture.  Later the indefinite strike was called off after all the demands of Resident doctors association were accepted by the administration.
