Only 39% MD/ MS are able to clear DNB exams

In an interview, NBE executive director Dr Bipin Batra disclosed the data of MD/MS candidates clearing DNB exit (final) examination.

“Only 39% of MD/MS qualified doctors are able to clear DNB exams in the same subject – a clear indicator of the higher standard of assessment” Quoted Dr. Batra in Bhabha Atomic Hospital Magazine Interview

In a country with an acute shortage of Doctors do we need an exam pattern were already specialists are also failing the exam? asked Dr. Anand Rai (VYAPAM Whistle Blower). He added that Unlike universities and Medical colleges, the Board (NBE) is not funded by the MOHFW and relies totally on the exam fees of the students. This is a conflict of interest and against the guidelines laid down by the Honorable Supreme Court regarding Medical educational Institutions.

Further Office bearers of Association of DNB Doctors told us that this data point out the Bias and Highheadedness of MCI regarding Latest Teachers eligibility criteria in which DNBs are asked to do 3 years of Extra JRship.  MCI wants to block DNBs and create extra Job opportunities to MD /MS of private medical colleges in order to keep them running.
