Delhi high court issues notice to National Board of Examinations for NEET PG irregularities

On Friday 26th May 2017, Delhi high court issued a notice to the National Board of Examinations for alleged irregularities in NEET PG 2017. However, the notice is not available online, the information is provided by the petitioners and their online campaign pages.

Allegedly NBE lawyer told the Court that the scaling is based on Item Response Theory, which is Nobel prize winner theory and that Supreme Court allowed NBE to conduct NEET PG in 2014.  Out team have checked both the claims to be false. Item response theory is no Nobel proze winner theory and Since NEET PG was allowed in 2016 by the supreme court after Sankalp charitable trust filed a review petition, there is no point of NEET being allowed to be conducted by NBE in 2014.

NBE lawyer stated that this format of the exam is there in place since 2012 and this objection is misplaced and motivated. However, it was clarified by the lawyers of the petitioners that numerous complaints have been registered regarding the same and a similar case is pending since 2015, so it can not be said that this is new.

MCI lawyer clarified to the court that MCI have not allowed NBE to conduct NEET PG, It’s a decision made by NBE and Ministry. Further, it was clarified to the court that NBE appointed Prometric on his own and it has nothing to do with MCI and Ministry. Court also clarified that the admissions by NEET PG 2017 are subjected to the decision of this Judgement.

Allegations were made by the petitioners regarding non-transparent examination system and Scaling method used by the Prometric, a 100% private company acting as technology partner of NBE. Petitioners told us that the tender to Prometric is an Open tender issued by NBE illegally in a similar manner in which CBSE issued an open tender to a private firm and CBI have registered a FIR. It is noteworthy that the Prometric tender is at least 100 times worth value compared to the CBSE OMR tender for which CBI acted so swiftly.

Difference between the Open tender by CBSE and NBE is that the earlier is available online while the Prometric tender is not available on the website of NBE. http://cbse.nic.in/newsite/tenders/2016/Tender%20Notice-%20English.pdf
