AIIMS RDA president Dr Harjit Singh Bhatti wrote a letter to Union Health Minister J P Nadda regarding NEET PG scam and calls. The letter reads as: “This is to bring to your kind notice that National Ellgibliltyy cum entrance examination for Postgraduate courses was conducted on 7th January 2018. But from the day of fulfillment of application form students are receiving calls and messages from various private medical institutions with lucrative offers to make them join into the institution with heavy fees this itself raises the question mark on the sanctity of the National Board of Examinations (NBE) that how information of Students who applied for exam is reaching the private medical colleges
Secondly. at the time of result declaration, this is the first time that NBE released the scores of aspirants but didn’t disclose ranks or merit list. In the meanwhile, students are receiving calls claiming to Improve their rank if they pay 5 lakh rupees. What is shocking is that these callers have all the details of students including their permanent address, aadhar number and saying they can Improve the rank in top 1000 if given monetary benefit. Though according to NFIE merit Ilst is not yet prepared and will take two more weeks.
Sir, it’s a clear breach of security and privacy of students and a matter of serious concern as it will directly affect the career of meritorious students. We have all the relevant evidence like audio recordings and messages to prove our stand. Students from various medical colleges came to RDA AIMS for help in this situation of crisis. As a representative body of the responsible healthcare professionals, we want a high-level inquiry to root out corruption and restore faith in the sanctity of NEET and NBE.”
