Just after 4 days of the attack on two doctors in JJ Hospital in Mumbai, another case comes in picture in Siddharth Hospital of Goregaon West. A 45-year-old patient allegedly assaulted a lady doctor at Siddharth hospital in Goregaon on Wednesday.
According to the police, the incident took place at around 9.30 am when the 26-year-old doctor, Anju Nagarkar, was on round in the woman’s ward on the fifth floor of Siddharth hospital.

The patient, Nanda Gopi, caught Nagarkar’s shirt and pushed her. In her complaint to police, Nagarkar, a resident of Vile Parle, claimed that Gopi even threatened her after allegedly assaulting her.

A police officer said, “On the complaint an FIR under sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from performing his duty), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506(2) (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and relevant sections of the Maharashtra Medical Practitioners Service Act was registered by the Goregaon police.”

At least 400 doctors of JJ Hospital had been on strike following the assault on two doctors on Saturday morning.
The incident was captured by CCTV cameras installed in ward number 11. The relatives of a patient, Zaida Shah, had attacked the doctors after one of them informed them about her death. The doctors had gone on strike in protest against the incident, demanding security cover for them.
